HORIZONTAL & VERTICAL AUTOCLAVE: WHAT IS, TYPE, USES AND WHERE TO BUY

WHAT IS AUTOCLAVE/STEAM STERILIZER

Autoclave is the name of an equipment used to sterilize instruments in chemical laboratories, industrial, pharmaceuticals, hospitals and beauty salons. It is an essential device for everyone's health and safety, as it uses moist steam to eliminate contaminants from materials that have come into contact with blood, skin or a surface with any type of dirt. Hospitals and research laboratories use autoclaves to sterilize materials. The sterilization action is performed when the autoclave keeps the contaminated material directly in water vapor and at a high temperature, causing all microorganisms to die.

Hospitals, laboratories, medical and dental offices, even podiatry clinics and manicures need to constantly sterilize the instruments used. The process, usually done by an autoclave sterilizer, consists of keeping the contaminated object in contact with steam at a very high temperature, for a certain period of time. This eliminates microorganisms such as fungi, viruses and bacteria, which could cause infections or transmit diseases to other patients exposed to the same instruments. The sterilization method using an autoclave is a safe procedure.

TYPE OF AUTOCLAVE: HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL

There are different types of autoclave (steam sterilizer), some of which are presented in a vertical version and others in a horizontal version. What distinguishes them is that the vertical equipment has the door on top, and the instruments are stored vertically, while the horizontal autoclave has the door on one side.

Autoclaves can also be of the horizontal or vertical type. The horizontal type are currently the most used, as they have double walls separated by a space where the steam circulates to keep the heat in the inner chamber during sterilization, preventing the formation of condensate, and is more effective in the sterilization process. The vertical type have a relatively lower cost, as they are much simpler in their construction, they are not as efficient, as they hinder steam circulation, air drainage and steam penetration due to the distribution of packages to be sterilized, which remain superimposed.

A metal cylinder highly resistant both vertical and horizontal, is a place where is the resistance responsible for heating the water will leave the sterilized materials. It also has a lid with thumbscrews that allow the lid to be closed, preventing air from entering or escaping. The safety and air valves are located on the cover; the temperature control is made through a key command and also account with a record that shows both the temperature as the pressure.

USES OF HORIZONTAL & VERTICAL AUTOCLAVE/STEAM STERILIZER

Vertical & Horizontal Autoclaves/Steam Sterilizers are used for sterilization processes: injectables, textiles and in the area of microbiology laboratories. Prepared to work with pure steam generators coupled to the equipment or with the customer's own steam network.
