ServiceNow is integrated into Oracle's cloud infrastructure

ServiceNow has been integrated into Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure, according to the company.

Customers may now manage OCI resources using their service portal of ServiceNow and the application of ITOM Visibility, offering a single dashboard for handling Oracle and other cloud providers' resources in the public cloud.

Oracle's cloud portfolio is growing, with seven global Microsoft Azure-Oracle Interconnect areas, Government Cloud from Oracle, and 29 regions in Oracle Cloud and also hybrid cloud supporting solutions.

ServiceNow's IT Service Management and IT Operations Management platforms are now used by a variety of enterprises. These businesses will be able to use ITOM Visibility to find and handle CaaS, PaaS, and OCI IaaS resources, just as they'd do for various cloud resources, thanks to this connection.

“Customers may now monitor and handle all their resources in the cloud, including Oracle, from their existing ServiceNow Service portal.”

All discoverable resources of Oracle Cloud have now been retrieved and saved in the repository of ServiceNow CMDB, that can be utilized to track resource availability for support level, operations, and  IT services management.

Customers can also monitor OCI-deployed workloads and give service context using service mapping based on tags by merging CMDB (configuration management database) information with ServiceNow's AIOps (artificial intelligence for IT operations) offering.

A few clients, such as Network Rail in the United Kingdom, believe the integration holds promise.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and ServiceNow AIOps and ITOM visibility integration

ServiceNow's ITOM software is now available to ServiceNow clients that require a single glass pane to track all of their OCI. The Discovery service and ITOM Visibility is now integrated with ServiceNow and OCI, allowing customers to inventory and evaluate the utilization of cloud resources under their tenancy in the OCI.

All Discoverable Oracle Cloud CaaS, PaaS, and IaaS resources are retrieved and saved in the CMDB repository, which can be used to track IT services resource availability, management at support level and operations. Database for Configuration Management

The discovery service of ITOM uses the REST APIs from OCI to search for every discoverable configuration element in the whole OCI stack, covering all data centres. How to Begin?

  1. Look for “Discovery & Service-Mapping Patterns” in the Plugins section and install it.

  2. Navigate to Discovery -> Credentials -> New, and enter your OCI tenancy information in Oracle API Credentials.

  3. Make a service account by navigating to Cloud Provisioning and Governance, Service Accounts. Fill in your name and your compartment OCID in the Account ID field. Connect the service account to the credentials you created earlier in the process within discovery credentials.

  4. Navigate to Discovery -> Discovery Schedules -> Cloud Discovery. Connect to your service account by selecting the OCI provider. After you've tested and validated account access, you may start looking for your OCI tenancy's resources.
